Abbey's Own Bone Met Healing Research and ChoicesDon't overlook Vitamin C and movement
Bone metastasis healing research and support notes reflecting Abbey's personal choices. A summary of information I've been asked to share that relates to my personal choices for healing and protecting my bones since 2017.
When first diagnosed with extensive bone mets I took Zoladex injections, Radiation to one vertebrae, IV-Vitamin C and Liposomal Curcumin and Vitamin C and went on a keto for cancer diet. I started off with taking the calcium the oncologist nurse told me about but after speaking to a family friend who had had prostate cancer that went to his bones I switched to the AlgaeCal products.
I used these in 2017-18 for about 12 months. And recently other group members have found this is similar to Algae Cal bone restore mix from iherb Vitamin D and K2 have been used daily all along since 2017.
Vitamin D is important for regulating calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood, two factors that are extremely important for maintaining healthy bones. I used to take a combo capsule and nowadays I take the D3 in the morning and the K2 with dinner. I read that this was a better way to take them in a protocol shared in the group's Vit D3 study support thread. (under V for Vitamin here)
I take this magnesium and this one, zinc, and liposomal Vitamin C daily too.
Melatonin influences bone metabolism by stimulating bone growth and inhibiting osteoclast activity. Oral administration of melatonin contained in drinking water increased bone strength in naturally aged mice. www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0065128120300957
Data indicates that melatonin improves bone mass by inhibiting the expression of cancer-derived osteolytic factors and by promoting apoptosis in mature osteoclasts. cancerres.aacrjournals.org/content/79/13_Supplement/1970
Buying: purebulk.com/melatonin (also may be available on iHerb for some countries)
And I recently had great success with custom sensitive packaging (I live in Australia) and fast delivery of high dose capsules ordering from a new source. More about that source in this private group post: Note: I worked my way from 3mg to 20 mg then up to 180 mg nightly but since March 2021 started reducing. And now after some more very high ups and downs I am currently sitting on 220 mg nightly.

Fish oil prevents breast cancer cell metastasis to bone.
Buying: I have taken 1-2 of this this fish oil at night . I take at same time with Magnesium powder, Liposomal Vitamin C and my nightly Melatonin. For a long time added a 100mg mini Aspirin to this nightly, but has stopped the Aspirin of late. Aspirin was being taken with fish oil as a pro-resolving mediator to address any low level inflammation created by dormant cancer cells and because it might help with bone remodelling.
California Gold Nutrition DHA Pharmaceutical Grade Fish Oil is very cheap yet features KD-PÜR® IFOS™ 5-Star rated high quality fish oil concentrate processed in Germany and is specifically designed for individuals looking for an ultra-concentrated, once-daily softgel. Per dose, DHA 700 offers the highest quality fish oil, with no less than 70% DHA, at the best overall value. Vegan options are out there. such as an algae based Omega-3 from Free Spirit in Australia. It’s not cheap but I prefer it and tend to mix things up; half fish, half algae.
Solomon's Seal was recommended to me by Dr. McKinney : tincture works to strengthen the entire muscular-skeletal system. I have one bottle in my supplement basket and one in the bathroom which I will apply topically after a shower before bed when I feel any little aches or pains. Works so well! www.cortesiaherbalproducts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/therapeutic-qualities-of-solomon%E2%80%99s-seal.pdf

Insulin-like Growth Factor-1
IGF Axis note: Preclinical evidence suggests that tumor cells can be primed to metastasize to bone by a high IGF-1 environment in the primary tumor, suggesting that bone metastases may reflect IGF dependency. aacrjournals.org/clincancerres/article/25/12/3479/81435/Bad-to-the-Bone-The-Role-of-the-Insulin-Like Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) is a nutrient-responsive growth factor that activates MAPK and PI3K/AKT signalling which are critical drivers of tumour growth. Preclinical evidence shows that IGF-1 and IGF-1R are the main factors associated with breast cancer bone metastasis.

Bone Loss from AIs Directly Contributes to Bone Mets https://www.oncotarget.com/article/14139/text/ A weak bone matrix sets up the perfect environment for bone mets. There are ways to reduce bone loss while on AIs or in menopause in general, whether this be through pharmacological options or supplements plus exercise or both.
DON'T FORGET Stretching and moving and weight baring are all important to support healthy bones. I do Qi Gong asmy exercise which is mostly stretching. I use the Zen Chi machine for 10 minutes morning and night. The 10 minutes on the Zen Chi Machine encourages the flow of synovial fluid between the discs. This helps to reduce inflammation and ease pain by supplying nutrients and oxygen to the tissues, and also by helping to expel the toxins that arise from inflammation." I don't do weights other than carry my 2.7kg dog around in my arms way too much!
Vitamin C super important to me.
Liposomal Vitamin C is so important for building the matrix of collagen that our bones are made of. The fascia that wraps and protects each organ is made from a matrix of collagen also, making Vitamin C super important factor to inhibiting metastasis in general. I’ve been making and taking loads of Liposomal Vitamin C from very early on and my bones just soaked it up in huge quantities the first couple of years. These days I still have a good tablespoon as maintenance daily and more when needed. “..maintaining the collagen triple helix structure of the fold to enhance its strength and stability is the main function that Vitamin C serves to influence collagen. For example, Vitamin C has been proved that can inhibit the degradation and re-modeling of ECM and can prevent bone metastasis of cancer cells..” www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0753332220307812
The role of calcium (Ca2+) in cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion has been well established. Interestingly, emerging evidence indicates that Ca2+ signalling played a key role in bone metastasis, for it not only promotes cancer progression but also mediates osteoclasts and osteoblasts differentiation. Therefore, Ca2+ signalling has emerged as a novel therapeutical target for cancer bone metastasis treatments"
"Mineralised bone is a kind of electric battery composed from nano-metric cells formed from negatively charged nano-crystallites embedded into positively charged inter-crystallite water. The cells are strongly charged in a newborn bone and discharge with age. The charge dissipation is due to the counter Ca2+ and OH− ionic currents. Relationships between the spatiotemporal and charge regulation processes and their effect on the mechanical properties of bone are discussed in detail in this article.

I have been drinking magnetically structured water daily since 2018. We have the MEA Water Iris device on our cold water pipe under kitchen floor. From an Australian supplier who ships worldwide. The more I learn about water, bones and energy I'm sure drinking great water and taking loads of liposomal Vitamin C to support collagen creation has probably played a synergistic role in my healing.
